Cross River State has evolved, a gregarious people with a peculiar conduct of wealth-seeking and fun-going. credit is due to late and living legends who foster what we are known for; the bare facts framed around our rich cultural heritage. There are states in the world that are known to export violence, the Good people of Cross River State lead a life of sharp contrast to violence; peace, joy, happiness, uniting not just Nigeria or Africa, but the world. We packaged elation and trade on it.
People naturally want to be happy and meet happy people.
We have created a trade off making people, a similar venture like that of Walt Disney who came up with the concept of Disneyland after visiting various amusement parks with his daughters in the 1930s and 1940s. The mechanism behind such an establishment should be of great interest to the people of Cross River State, all her people, or the conscious many who have known that what comes from the center will not sustain us, as we are left to our inventiveness towards diversifying our state economy.
We have an already identified and acknowledged as viable entertainment practicing industry in Cross River State. A private-sector-driven multi million naira entertainment industry that services the state's Tourism viability, through the course of a year (11 months), complementing the annual public-sector-driven event that is once a year (Calabar Carnival & Festival). We have an invincible Public-Private-Partnership - PPP existing without collation of the endeavours in this regard, or the activities of the few harnessing resources to sustain these endeavours.
The absense of the collation of our entertainment industry has made the most important resource behind these endeavours to be neglated; the youths that sweat for the industry to grow and their parents that bear most risk, economic and emotional while their youths sweat through, entertaining without institutions cillating their endeavours with financial returns guaranteed.
Youths loose their lives in the course of fostering our entertainment industry either as a consumer or as practioner. These are thus sensitive; demanding an immediate review of our entertainment industry.
The Cross River Entertainment Practitioners (CREP) is an institution belonging to every entertainment practitioner in Cross River State. A worthy inovation to help the Government and citizens of our state understand the industry from the view of a practitioner. Not from a consumer, government or appointee's view, as the former receives the finished entertainment produce while the later has only but a fair-knowledge of the intricacies of entertainment service production pre-consumption.
The Cross River Entertainment Practitioners (CREP) is an institution that will unite every entertainment practitioner, in various sectors, in Cross River State - inevitaly creating an energy base, to cause an economic revolution for Cross River State, through entertainment, enabling entertainment exports and enriching our state.
This is a clarion call; a conscious turn for good.
